Proposal Manager

Juneau Construction Company is seeking a Proposal Manager to join the Marketing + Communications division in Atlanta, GA. This position will play a critical role in presenting Juneau Construction Company to prospective and existing clients, highlighting the best in class projects and culture we proudly offer.

The Proposal Manager is responsible for applying creative and strategic storytelling to drive pursuit efforts to position Juneau Construction Company as the builder of choice. This position works cross-departmentally to develop winning technical content and branded materials that communicate a clearly defined value proposition and highlight Juneau’s differentiators in pursuit of new business.

Position Qualifications:

  • 5+ years managing proposals in the AEC industry required

  • BS/BA with concentration in Marketing, Business, English, Journalism, or Communications preferred

  • Excellent writing skills and strong attention to detail, with a high level of creativity

  • Strong technical proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign) and Microsoft Office (particularly PowerPoint)

  • Experience working in OpenAsset highly desired

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for interviewing internal thought leaders to translate highly technical data into content that resonates with target audiences

  • Operates in a highly organized fashion with the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure in a fast-paced and heavily deadline driven environment

  • Leads efforts to produce winning responses to RFQ/RFPs and Interview Presentations to secure new business, which includes:

    • Collaborating across Juneau departments to clearly define and articulate Juneau’s value proposition and differentiation strategy on strategic pursuits

    • Leading the development of technical content by engaging internal thought leaders, shaping storytelling opportunities, and showcasing Juneau’s innovative, best in class execution

    • Assisting Business Development team in researching and understanding target audiences to craft content and messaging that resonates

    • Developing content that is responsive to RFQ/RFP requirements, including cut sheets, resumes, references, experience lists, financial and/or legal information

    • Managing pursuit logistics, including kickoff meetings, internal deliverables, and ensuring final delivery ahead of proposed deadlines

    • Prioritizing and managing multiple concurrent assignments at one time

    • Managing pursuit debrief sessions to collect best practices and client feedback

  • Works with Preconstruction and Pre-Development departments to ensure consistent branding and messaging on pursuit deliverables

  • Creates AIA A305 Qualification Packages

  • Executes Project Capture Plan, capturing technical and visual content to use as strategic storytelling in case studies, insights, thought leadership pieces, and technical proposals

  • Manages Juneau’s external recognition, including people, firm, and project award submissions

  • Manages OpenAsset database of all digital assets

  • Leverages marketing trends to continually enhance Juneau’s storytelling and strengthen the impact of proposals and thought leadership process

Systems Knowledge:

Experience with traditional construction industry software similar to the following:

  • Microsoft PowerPoint experience required

  • Adobe Creative Suite – InDesign experience

  • Microsoft SharePoint and Teams collaboration tools

  • OpenAsset

Physical Demands / Job Expectations:

  • Position may require extended periods of time sitting and/or standing, talking both in person and over technological avenues, lifting up to 20 lbs. as needed.

  • Position may require periodic travel within the Juneau Construction Company footprint to jobsites and additional office locations for various events as needed

  • This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring a regular in-office presence at least three days per week, with the flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week based on business needs.

  • Position requires tact and confidentiality, as Proposal Manager is responsible for owning, reporting on, and updating sensitive information pertaining to the organization and its’ employees, as well as clients, trade partners and other relevant parties.
